Denver Bronco produced an impressive front-running performance at Gatton on Friday, November 6, recording a convincing victory under a beautifully judged ride from senior jockey Danny Peisley.
Despite a delayed start and a slightly hesitant beginning from the barriers, Denver Bronco quickly found his stride, rewarding the patience of his connections with a commanding performance.
Jumping from an outside barrier, Peisley showed great initiative in pushing forward early, recognising the advantage of securing an on-speed position around the tight Gatton circuit.
With the early leaders easing the tempo, Peisley seized the opportunity to take control of proceedings, allowing Denver Bronco to settle into a comfortable rhythm at the head of the field.
From there, it was a perfectly executed ride. Peisley dictated the tempo through the middle stages before allowing the gelding a valuable breather approaching the home turn, ensuring he had plenty left to offer when the race was there to be won.
Upon straightening, Denver Bronco responded immediately when asked to extend, quickly putting daylight between himself and his rivals before powering through the line to secure an emphatic victory.
It was a particularly pleasing performance for the Shailer Racing team, with Denver Bronco demonstrating both his natural ability and determination to finish his race strongly.
While the opposition may not have represented the strongest field he will encounter, the gelding could hardly have been more impressive in the manner of his victory, taking full advantage of the opportunity and putting the result beyond doubt.
