Secret Rose Breaks Through for Well-Deserved Maiden Victory

Secret Rose has been rewarded for her consistent start to her racing career, breaking her maiden in style yesterday when stepping up in trip on the Gold Coast Polytrack.

Ridden by Danny Peisley, the mare settled beautifully in the run, finding an ideal position where she travelled comfortably throughout the middle stages. With the step up in distance proving a positive, Secret Rose was able to conserve her energy before making her move approaching the home turn.

Presented upon straightening, she quickened nicely and quickly put herself into the race. The favourite loomed halfway down the straight and looked to challenge, but Secret Rose showed plenty of determination to sustain her strong gallop all the way to the line.

Importantly, she continued to find plenty late, pulling away from her rivals again over the final stages to secure a deserved maiden victory.

It was a particularly pleasing performance given the combination of the step up in trip and her first experience on the Polytrack, both of which she handled with professionalism.
