Shailer Racing Golf Day at Lakelands: A Day to Remember

We were thrilled to host a day on the greens alongside Lakelands Golf Club, bringing together owners, supporters, and friends of the stable for a fun day out.

It was great to see everyone come together away from the racetrack, with plenty of laughs, a bit of friendly competition, and a shared love of sport throughout the day.

A big thank you to Vela Estate, who brought a real touch of luxury to the day. Known for their premium, tailored corporate gifting—working closely with clients to integrate branding in a refined and considered way—Vela Estate’s founder, professional long driver Matt Stubbs, hosted our longest drive competition. It made for a great feature on the course, with plenty of big swings and a luxury Vela Estate gift box awarded to the winner.

Another highlight was the Hole-in-One competition, proudly supported by EcoGlide Australia, where participants had the chance to win an EcoGlide golf cart. EcoGlide are known for their premium electric carts, designed with performance, comfort, and long-term reliability in mind—whether on the course, at a resort, or across larger farm properties. Their lithium-powered systems offer longer range, faster charging, and minimal maintenance, making them a standout in the space. The competition itself created a great buzz, with a number of shots going very close and keeping everyone watching.

One of the standout moments of the day came with our putt-off competition to win a share in our Better Than Ready x Zegota filly. It came down to the finest of margins, with Glen Rose getting the job done by a nose—we’re very excited to welcome him into the Shailer Racing family!

Days like this are what it’s all about—bringing people together and enjoying the journey. We’re very grateful to everyone who joined us and helped make it such a great occasion.
