WHY WE LOVE HER
Proven racetrack performer – An impressive winner on debut over 1400 metres in New Zealand, recording the fastest final 800m, 600m, 400m and 200m sectionals of the race.
Outstanding New Zealand pedigree – Out of Arlington Rock, a daughter of champion broodmare sire Fastnet Rock, and from the family of Group 1 winner Arlington Boulevard.
Stakes-performing family – Her dam has already produced stakes performer Blue On Black, by Camelot, highlighting the depth and quality of her female family.
Exciting staying potential – A beautifully balanced mare with a relaxed racing style, impressive finishing action and the physical attributes to develop into a quality middle-distance performer.
Proven ability with plenty of upside – Secured following her impressive debut victory, offering owners the opportunity to become involved in a proven race winner rather than an untested prospect.
WHAT WE'RE SEEING SO FAR
Our Grecia Girl arrived from New Zealand with plenty of excitement surrounding her, having made an immediate impression with a dominant debut victory over 1400 metres.
What particularly caught our attention was the manner in which she won. After relaxing beautifully through the middle stages, she travelled comfortably into the race before lengthening stride and producing an effortless turn of foot over the concluding 200 metres. Her performance was backed up by the clock, recording the fastest final 800m, 600m, 400m and 200m sectionals of the race.
Her pedigree is equally appealing. By a quality New Zealand sire line and out of Arlington Rock, a daughter of Fastnet Rock, she boasts an impressive female family featuring Group 1 winner Arlington Boulevard and stakes performer Blue On Black.
Since joining the Shailer Racing stable, Our Grecia Girl has continued to make encouraging progress. A lovely mare with good length, depth of girth and an excellent temperament, she has all the physical attributes and natural ability that initially attracted us to her.
She is currently in the stable and progressing through her preparation, having already completed two trials. The plan is to give her another trial before heading back to the races over the coming month or two.
With a race win already to her name, an exciting pedigree and the benefit of valuable racetrack experience, Our Grecia Girl represents an appealing opportunity for owners looking to become involved in a proven performer with further improvement to come.
TRAINER INSIGHT
Our Grecia Girl is a mare we've been excited about since watching her debut win in New Zealand. The way she relaxed throughout the race and then really lengthened over the final 200 metres was particularly impressive.
She's a lovely type with a great temperament, good length and plenty of depth about her. She's now had two trials this preparation, and we'll look to give her another before heading to the races. We're looking forward to seeing what she can do here in Australia.
