The 2026 Magic Millions January Yearling Sale delivered another outstanding week on the Gold Coast, and our team at Shailer Racing was thrilled to secure a carefully selected group of yearlings that perfectly align with our philosophy: early-running, commercial horses with strong pedigrees, athletic physiques and genuine upside for owners.
This year’s sale was particularly exciting for its depth of quality among first‑season sires, and we were delighted to invest heavily in what we believe is the next generation of elite stallions — including In The Congo, Jacquinot and Daumier — alongside proven Queensland sires Spirit of Boom and Better Than Ready, and a headline colt by the red‑hot Lucky Vega.

Lot 118 – In The Congo × Bolsonaro (Filly)
While the photos don’t do her justice, we were never leaving the sale without this stunning filly by exciting first‑season sire IN THE CONGO.
A Group 1‑winning son of Snitzel, In The Congo made a powerful statement with his first crop at Magic Millions, and from what we saw across the sale grounds, he is very much a sire to watch.
This filly is the first foal of the fast, stakes‑performed mare BOLSONARO, herself by Winning Rupert and out of an Exceed And Excel half‑sister to stakes‑winning sprinter VILLAMI. It’s speed on speed, stacked with commercial appeal and early‑running intent.
She profiles as an ideal Magic Millions 2YO prospect, with clear potential to target the $3,000,000 Magic Millions 2YO Classic in 12 months’ time.

Lot824 - In The Congo × Smitten (Colt)
One of our absolute favourites of the entire sale, this colt had been on our list since day one — and he did nothing but impress every time we inspected him.
He boasts a strong physical presence, deep girth and quality bone, and he looks remarkably like his sire. His dam is a half‑sister to black‑type performed ASTORIA, giving the pedigree plenty of substance to match the physique.
With In The Congo’s first progeny making a major impression throughout the sale, this colt shapes as an exciting early prospect with strong resale and racetrack appeal.

Lot 119 – Jacquinot × Bombshell Babe (NZ) (Colt)
It was love at first sight with this colt — and he only grew on us with every inspection.
We have been extremely taken by the progeny of first‑season sire JACQUINOT, and this colt is a wonderful representative of the stallion: strong, well‑balanced and oozing quality.
He is from a half‑sister to Group 1 performers SWEYNESSE and RIMRAAM, providing a serious pedigree platform. Though a late foal, he walks with purpose, carries himself with confidence and gives every indication he knows how good he is.
A colt we cannot wait to get into training.

Lot 956 – Daumier × Virgo (Colt – Ladies Only)
We were thrilled to secure this forward‑looking colt by first‑season sire DAUMIER for our ladies on Day 4 of the sale — and at tremendous value.
DAUMIER was a champion two‑year‑old colt and Group 1 Blue Diamond winner, and his stock screams precocity. This colt is further strengthened by ZOUSTAR as the dam‑sire, one of the most reliable sources of elite juvenile speed in the country.
