Home Track Double Delights
Shailer Racing celebrated a fantastic day on home soil at the Gold Coast, securing a memorable stable double courtesy of impressive victories from Scud and Hey Daisy.
With both mares returning to winning form under the guidance of Danny Peisley, it was a rewarding result for the entire team and their connections, highlighting the depth of talent currently in the stable.

Scud Returns a Winner First-Up
Scud got the day off to the perfect start, proving too strong when resuming over 1000 metres.
Despite heading into the race without the benefit of a trial, she produced a courageous performance that showcased her determination and class. Beginning well from the barriers, Scud was able to hold a position just behind the speed where she travelled comfortably throughout.
As the field straightened for home, a run appeared along the inside but quickly closed, forcing Danny to reassess and find an alternative path. Once clear, Scud quickly lengthened stride and charged to the line, finishing strongly to overhaul her rivals and secure an impressive first-up victory.
The effort was full of merit given the circumstances, and the team was delighted with the way she handled the challenge. Pleasingly, she has pulled up well following the run and looks set for another exciting preparation.

Hey Daisy Bounces Back in Style
Not to be outdone, Hey Daisy completed the stable double later in the day with a dominant victory of her own.
The mare presented in terrific order pre-race and carried herself with a calm and relaxed demeanour before heading to the barriers. She began cleanly and, with good speed engaged early, Danny was content to allow the leaders to roll while settling her into a perfect trailing position.
Travelling strongly throughout the middle stages, Hey Daisy looked to have plenty to offer approaching the home turn. However, as the field straightened she found herself racing in restricted room with nowhere to go. Sensing he had a horse full of running beneath him, Danny was forced to push into a narrow opening to secure clear air.
Once balanced and into the clear, Hey Daisy quickly showed her superiority, accelerating strongly to race over the top of her rivals and score a commanding victory.
It was a pleasing result for the mare, who was able to bounce back in the best possible fashion and remind everyone of her ability.
A Rewarding Day at Home
To secure a double at the Gold Coast is always something special for the team, and it was particularly satisfying to see both mares return to the winner's circle after producing such determined performances.
Congratulations to all of the connections involved with Scud and Hey Daisy. Days like these are the result of plenty of hard work behind the scenes, and it was wonderful to see that effort rewarded with two home-track winners.
We look forward to seeing what lies ahead for both mares as their preparations continue.
